Parent Handbook
Policies for Paramount Sports Complex

(Parents’ Responsibilities - It is the Parents' responsibility to be informed of Paramount policies that are explained in this handbook.
Parents and children who arrive at the gym early are to remain in the waiting area until the instructor signals the beginning of class.
Children should not run around and cannot be on the equipment without a teacher present.  Parents should accompany young children to the bathroom before class.  No one but the students enrolled in class will be allowed in the gym.  Brothers and sisters not enrolled in the class are to remain with the parents.  Creepy Crawlers and Wiggling Walkers:  During your Child’s class, please DO NOT allow other siblings in the classroom.  Doing so may cause distractions.

Your children count on you to get them to their class on time.  Remember - the warm-up is a crucial element to the class. Also, try to keep your commitment to your class day and time, because the learning process can be achieved easier through continuity.  Please leave the teaching to us & do not talk to your children to offer help during a class.

Payments/Tuition – ALL FEES ARE NON REFUNDABLE.  At time of registration, the last month of the session (May) will be charged for all preschool and progressive classes.   There is also an annual non-refundable registration fee of $25 assessed each September (or when your child enrolls).  All payments are due the first week of each month.  A Late Fee of $10.00 will be assessed for any payments received after the 10th of each month. When registering a child for a class, you are paying for a reservation and not your childs attendance.  There will be no refunds for missed classes.  Missed classes cannot be used in lieu of tuition.  Even though some months are less than four weeks in length or are five weeks in length, the fees remain the same.(Please see "What dates will my child have class" tab.)  Checks, cash and credit cards are accepted.  Please make checks payable to Paramount Sports Complex.
THERE WILL BE A $ 25.00 CHARGE FOR ALL NSF CHECKS

Family Discount:  We offer a discount of 10% off your family’s total monthly class tuition when you have two or more children participating in monthly classes. (Some exceptions may apply).
Withdraw/Absence-  PARENTS MUST NOTIFY THE SCHOOL TO DROP A STUDENT FROM CLASS. Only a written notice via email, regular postal mail or hand delivered to our front desk will be acceptable.

Please note: You are responsible for payment for your student's classes WHETHER OR NOT YOUR STUDENT ATTENDS CLASS until the time you notify the staff VIA WRITTEN NOTICE. Please do not rely on your student to verbally let us know that he/she will no longer be attending classes. If a student stops coming to class without notification then that student's account will be charged for the additional 30 days. This charge will be for holding the student's place in that class instead of offering that place to one of the many on a waiting list.   If you withdraw your child from classes in the hope of restarting your child at a later time, there is a re-registration fee of $15 if the spot remains open.  In addition, the final month's payment (May) is non-refundable and may only be used towards the final month's (May) tuition.

Default-Collection Costs-Assisgnment Account:
We may sell, assign or transfer your account or any portion thereof without notice to you.  Furthermore, if we refer the collection of your account to an attorney or collection agency to represent us with regard to recovery of money that you owe us, you agree to pay for all fees associated with collection of any amounts owed including attorney's fees, late fees, interest and collection agency fees as permitted by law.  We may delay enforcing or not enforce any of our rights under this agreement without losing or waiving any of them.

Change of Status - If you move to a new address or change your phone number, please inform the front desk.  Also, please notify the front desk if you have arranged with your child’s teacher to change classes or if you stop attending classes.  This allows us to contact students on waiting lists to join a class as soon as a vacancy occurs.

Early/Late Arrivals – If your child is dropped off more than a half hour early or picked up more than 15 minutes after class a “child-sitting” fee of $5.00/15 minutes will be charged to your account.  We cannot keep children in our care after class.  If you know you’ll be late to pick up your child please inform the front desk or your child’s teacher.  Children should wait in the lobby, not outside.  If your child is left here one half hour after class we will call someone from your “emergency contacts” to come pick up your child.

Child’s Illness:  Please inform us of any physical and/or medical problems that we should know about your child.  Illness can spread quickly.  Please respect the other children in the class and schedule a make-up class if necessary.  We appreciate absences to be phoned in to the front desk.

Inclement Weather:  Paramount Sports Complex will follow the Palmyra School District closing procedures.  If there is a two-hour delay, all morning classes will be cancelled.  If school closes, classes will be cancelled for the day.  If there is an early dismissal, there will be NO evening classes.

Making Up Missed Classes:  We expect you to come to your regularly scheduled class.  Paramount offers make up classes for Preschool and Progressive classes once a month on the first Saturday of the month.  Please check the monthly newsletter for the dates.  Sign up ahead of time at the front desk.  Missed classes may not be deducted from tuition.

Moving to a New Class - If your child is moving into a different class or age division we STRONGLY suggest you come and watch the class BEFORE you are scheduled to start.  This way both the parents and the child know what to expect. A request from the teacher must be presented to the front desk before moving to a higher level class.

Staff:  Paramount Sports Complex is fortunate to have a large, qualified staff.  The staff will try to maintain the same schedule throughout the year.  However, your child may occasionally have a different teacher.  The entire staff utilizes the same lesson plans and curriculum, but every instructor has their own style of teaching.  Please help your child adjust to a new teacher if this occurs.  Our enthusiastic staff is well trained through the USAG Safety Certification Course as well as through our own staff training and mentoring systems.  Many of our cheer instructors hold various certifications through NCA.  Many of our staff members are American Red Cross First Aid & CPR Certified.  All of the teachers are involved with year round in-service training as well as continuous video training.  Our office staff is always here to help you.

Communication

A.  We hope that when you watch your child’s class, you look for overall improvement and please be sure to compliment your child often.  Our goal is to make every child feel good about him or herself, learn about their sport and have fun!

  B.  Communication between the parent and the teacher is encouraged.  We hope you get to know your child’s teacher.  Feel free to ask for their help.  Suggestions from parents are directly responsible for changes at Paramount Sports Complex.  You are the most important part of this business.  Discipline – We expect good manners and a good attitude from the children.  If a child is disruptive or disrespectful to a teacher or other students they will be given a time out.  They will always be given a second chance.  We are committed to treating all children with respect, and in turn expect them to respect other students, our staff, and our facility.

Practicing at Home:  Sport skills takes practice and positive consistency, as does any educational or physical skill. Exercise with your children at home, and ask them periodically what they are doing in class.  Encourage safe home exercising, stretching, and strength building exercises. You will see faster results if they exercise at home.

No Smoking - Smoking is not allowed anywhere in the gym or on the facility grounds.  We are a smoke free complex and take pride in offering a healthy environment for your family.

Food/Drink Policy - No food, drinks, or gum are allowed in the gym instructional areas.  All food and drinks must remain in the viewing area.

Facility Cleanliness - We take pride in our gym, its bright colors, excellent equipment, and its cleanliness.  We clean it once a day; however, we need you to clean up after yourself.  Please help us maintain a facility we can all be proud of!
